Empowering students with language-based learning differences

Sam Weiss

Sam Weiss, high school English teacher, recently graduated from Georgetown University with an M.A. in English, where they were awarded a full-tuition departmental merit scholarship. They also attended Lewis & Clark College, where they earned a B.A. with honors in English with a minor in Theatre. While at Lewis & Clark, they were involved in theatre, creative writing, comedy, slam poetry, a capella, and dramatic & literary journals. They particularly loved co-directing a student-run 24-hour short-play festival and serving as the co-captain of Lewis & Clark’s improv troupe. They have also done an AmeriCorps term of service in college access and advising work, and now have over three years of college advising experience. Outside school, Sam can be found baking, swimming, reading queer sci-fi & fantasy, or playing with their two cats, Dandelion & Mabel.
