Madeleine Abate

Madeleine Abate, middle school social studies teacher, received her Bachelor's degree in History with a minor in Education from Goucher College, where she is now pursuing her Master's in Secondary Social Studies Education. She did student teaching in reading intervention at Takoma Middle School and in first grade at Glen Haven Elementary School in Montgomery County Public Schools, as well as in English at Cross Country Middle School in Baltimore City. Ms. Abate joins Siena after working as a Partner Teacher for a year at Horace Mann Elementary School. Her lifelong interest in ancient Greek mythology and history led her to study abroad in Thessaloniki, Greece, and now to Siena where she is excited to share her passion for history with the 6th and 7th graders. Outside of teaching, Ms. Abate loves reading, traveling, and spoiling her cat and two dogs.

Why I Teach At Siena: Because I believe in Siena's mission to help shape confident, curious learners who use their strengths and gifts to strive for and accomplish amazing things in school and life.
