Encouraging Independent Thinkers
Siena’s elementary science program was designed using Next Generation Science standards. It pulls from multiple scientific fields of study to explore cause-and-effect relationships and patterns. Students are guided through general concepts before engaging with real-world phenomena, where they can see more concrete examples. Students begin with studies in Geology and advance to studying Earth’s four spheres, developing a greater understanding of their interactions and/or impact on the environment. Through creative projects and presentations, students investigate these relationships as a precursor to a deeper study of the scientific process.
