Samantha Fletcher
Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement
Groups: Silver Spring,Administration,NoVA

Samantha Fletcher, director of diversity, equity, inclusion, & community engagement, has nearly 20 years of experience in multimedia journalism, research, education, and DEIB—including much of that time in educator and parent roles. Having spent over a decade as a reporter covering schools, religion, politics, lifestyles and more, she has amassed a plethora of stories, masterfully woven into her trainings in ways that help participants see perspectives they hadn’t considered, often leading to a shifting of mindsets. Between workshops, webinars, curriculum & instruction design, consulting, and keynote speaking, Samantha has ample experience with sharing hard truths and engaging diverse groups of people, helping them move forward with more of an understanding of and appreciation for one another. Her podcast, Daily Border Crossings, a show about “othering,” explores many of the intersections mentioned here. Samantha is a recent graduate of Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Technology, Innovation, and Education program, where she was an Equity & Inclusion Fellow, facilitating workshops for students, professors, and leaders at multiple Harvard schools and beyond. She holds an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Maryland and a B.A. in Communications and Sociology from Augusta State University. She is also a nostalgic lover of music and movies.
