Shana Silverman, elementary teacher, earned her B.A. in Elementary Education from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. A passionate educator, Ms. Silverman is entering her 11th year of teaching in independent schools. Before joining the Siena team, she taught 2nd and 3rd grades at Sidwell Friends School and 3rd and 4th grades at Abington Friends School outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Ms. Silverman loves exploring and learning alongside her students. When she isn’t teaching, Ms. Silverman enjoys being in nature, thrifting, meditating, and playing the ukulele.
Why I Teach At Siena: I hope to empower students who learn and think differently, so that they can confidently share their unique gifts and talents with the world. I believe society could greatly benefit from individuals who think outside the box and bring creative solutions.
