Empowering students with language-based learning differences

Summer at Silver Spring

"At my old school they just told me WHAT to do, but at Siena they actually explain the details of each step so I know HOW to do it. I understand the work so much better now [.…] I think Siena is going to be really great for me. I want to stay!" —Siena Summer School Student

Our academic summer school at the Forest Glen campus provides students with mild to moderate language-based learning differences entering grades 3rd-9th with a positive instructional experience that works on review, reinforcement, and enhancement of academic skills. Small classes and a nurturing environment provide fun and creative learning opportunities in reading, writing, and math skills and concepts.
Siena summer school is open to:
- Current Siena students (No application needed)
- Newly accepted and enrolled Siena students (No application needed)
- Area dyslexic students (entering grades 3-9) who would benefit from our learning tools and strategies. (Note: an application is required for non-Siena students; see below.)
Siena's summer program uses the same curriculum and teaching methods that are employed at the day school. Instruction is tailored to each student's individual needs, and all classes are multisensory and designed to support student achievement in a relaxed but rigorous setting.
PLEASE NOTE: For Summer 2025, all summer program attendees agree to adhere to all current Siena Covid protocols and, if necessary, adhere to any new protocols that may be instituted as circumstances change. Learn more here about Siena's current Covid protocols.
2025 Summer Academic Daily Schedule
Students at Siena's Forest Glen campus are enrolled in three morning classes and a tutorial for additional individualization. Social time is incorporated for students to have breaks, build relationships, and play games together.
