Potential Savings Benefit Explained
Understanding Your Actual Out-of-Pocket Cost
We believe that specialized education should be accessible. While the "sticker price" of tuition represents the total investment, many of our families pay a significantly lower Net Cost once financial aid and tax advantages are applied.
Tuition Estimator
Three Pillars of Affordability
- Federal Tax Advantages: Because Siena provides specialized education, tuition may be deductible as a medical expense under IRS Publication 502. This can act as a significant "automatic discount" on your family's investment.
- Need-Based Financial Aid: Roughly 40% of Siena families receive financial aid. We provide nearly $2 million in assistance annually.
- Our data shows that for many families, the actual out-of-pocket tuition is substantially lower than the base rate — sometimes by as much as 45%.
Important Disclaimers
Please Note: These estimates are for illustrative purposes only. Actual financial aid awards, deductibility, and final tax savings will vary based on each family’s unique financial situation.
- Tax Assumptions: These calculations assume varying household incomes and tax brackets, a 7.5% Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) medical deduction threshold, and no other significant medical deductions.
- Additional Savings: Families may find further savings through other deductible medical expenses, including allowable transportation mileage to and from school.
- Consult a Professional: Siena does not provide tax advice. We strongly recommend consulting with a qualified tax professional to understand how IRS Publication 502 applies to your specific circumstances.
